5 Irresistible Festive Recipes
Christmas is the perfect excuse to get back in touch with your inner Martha Stewart (or discover one you never knew you had!) So step aside, don your apron, prepare the oven gloves and give a few of these tantalisingly good recipes a try just in time for the big day.
And even if you're so NOT the baking type, wave a few of these in front of someone who is and who knows what magical might just appear before your eyes (hopefully without any cringe "Expectation vs. Reality" results!)
Now I'm not all that familiar with "bark" bar pictures I've seen on Pinterest, but from what I can gather it's melted chocolate with bits of other stuff chucked in. This one has peppermint, M&Ms, and white chocolate and is super quick and easy to make; win win!
Now there's three words which belong together, and look how cute. How did I not realise before now that gingerbread would be 10,000 times better in the form of a tiny house sitting on the rim of my mug?! You might need a steady hand for this one, but the results are adorbs!
Finally something a bit more sophisticated, a frangipane tart is a favourite no matter what the season, but this festive twist with cranberry and orange looks irresistible (add a big fat blob of cream on the side and it'll be perfect!)
Do I know what a ginger doodle is? Do you know what a ginger doodle is? Does anyone know what a ginger doodle is? But my god, look how warm and soft and gooey it looks. Santa definitely needs one of these left out for him on Christmas eve! (Although how he'll get back up the chimney I'll never know.)
A Buche de Noel is a French yule log, and those guys look like they know what they're doing with this one. Creamy, full of cranberries and smothered with white chocolate, it's one to indulge in.
Are you baking anything special this Christmas, or just enjoying the spoils like me?!

Monthly Wallpaper; January 2014
An old tradition of mine was to update my iPhone/desktop computer every. single. month. with a seasonal picture to represent said month.
Now this did happen for a little while, however came to an unfortunate stop in October when life generally got the way and I stopped making them, causing me great embarrassment every single day between November 1st and today, January 2nd, when I'd pick my phone up to be greeted by a "Happy October" wallpaper.
Hopefully this year I'll have more luck through, and have got off to a flying start for January, albeit it just a teeny tiny three months late.
Now this is just compatible for the iPhone 4S, however I'll see how things get off and am hoping to put together a few more variation, and I might even reach out into desktop and/or tablet sizes versions in the future!*

New Year Style Resolutions
As a new year sets in it always gets me thinking about what I want to change in the following 12 months.
Now my style isn't necessarily awful, I just find that I'm always going for the same shape and style of outfits repeatedly and lacking inspiration, so my new year style resolutions are:
1. More bright colours
Now admittedly there is a lot of black in the collection above, but I'd really like to start wearing more colours. Whilst I love the simplicity of wearing an all dark ensemble, I do feel like people see someone in head to toe black and think, "she's obviously shy and likes to hide in the background", which isn't necessarily the case, but a colour pop of a bright shoe, or even a neon dress I think would definitely update my look!
2. Play with textures and fabrics
I've absolutely loved the leather trend which has come in this year; it's a much needed update to denim which seems to have reigned unchallenged to decades now. The quest for the perfect pair of leather-look leggings reigns on, and even velvets and furs have been catching my eye more than usual recently!
3. Show some skin
Cut outs and crop tops have been huge this past year, and it's a bandwagon I'm yet to leap on. Whilst midrift might be a bit too far out of my comfort zone, cut outs around the waist and shoulders definitely appeal, so I'll be looking out for these on my next shopping trip!
4. Shape Shifting
Now I'm getting a bit older *sniff* some things are feeling more and more like they're too "young" for me to wear. In the past I'd happily go for a body con dress, but it's starting to feel far too teenage for me now the mid twenties are fast approach. High necks and looser shift dresses will definitely be on the agenda for 2014.
5. Take more risks
Having fail safe options often means that you'll end up in a "uniform" of sorts. Trying out new things, for example I'm really regretful I didn't jump on the jumpsuit or skort trend of 2013, will hopefully bring something a bit more interesting to my current wardrobe!
What are your style resolutions for the next 12 months?

Happy New Year!
Hello! I've decided to try and get my blogging mojo back with a swishy new theme, and a little bit of motivation behind me!
Hope everyone had a great New Years Eve last night, and that you (aka, I) manage to stick to whatever new years resolutions you've set yourself.
